When a young couple stumbled upon a 1913 Colonial Revival in Brookline they realized they had found a true diamond in the rough. From an overgrown exterior to a dilapidated interior the house was in desperate need of serious TLC. The clients had decided they were ready to start panning for a family and the first step was to move to Brookline, where they could rely on a great public schoolsystem for their future children. Before they could pack their bags, they first had some work to do. The Revival went through a complete overhaul; updating the building systems, gutting the interiors, re-working the floor plans, and designing a fully functioning home that expresses the couples eclectic interests and backgrounds. D&A was hired in the early stages to assist with the interior design and specifications for the entire renovation. The result of the collaboration is as stunning as it is functional and family friendly. The design team selected materials that can withstand the wear and tear of daily family life without sacrificing sophistication or elegance. Featured in the 2012 Fall issue of Boston Home Magazine where you can read more about the client's journey through home renovation.
